UNIONDALE, NY (October 7, 2002) - After an 18-month absence, the Greater Middletown area will again have its own yellow pages directory. Yellow Book USA today announced it would publish a comprehensive directory for the Greater Middletown, Conn., business community in June 2003. The Greater Middletown Yellow Book will provide a cost-effective alternative to the three SBC/SNET directories currently serving the area and convenience to consumers by offering comprehensive information about the entire area in one, easy-to-use directory.
The new Greater Middletown Yellow Book will include business yellow and white page listings as well as residential white page listings for the entire Greater Middletown area including the towns of Middletown, Middlefield, Durham, Cromwell, Rocky Hill, Portland, East Hampton, Higganum, Marlborough, Moodus, Haddam, East Haddam, and Colchester. The new directory will compliment Yellow Book's Naugatuck Valley and Fairfield County directories, with 65,000 books delivered free to residences and businesses early next summer.
"After SBC/SNET lumped Greater Middletown into their Greater Hartford directories, the Greater Middletown area was overlooked as an independent business community. Yellow Book is pleased to give the residents of the Greater Middletown area a phone directory of their own," said Joe Walsh, president and CEO of Yellow Book USA. "And advertisers now have the luxury of avoiding SBC/SNET's high advertising rates to reach consumers in Greater Middletown."
The oldest and largest competitive yellow pages publisher in the United States, Yellow Book USA is an innovative leader producing books that are easier to use, and provide a full range of convenient features including listings printed in three larger-print columns, area maps, zip code information, coupons, restaurant menus and a comprehensive listing of community services.
"Around the country, consumers have embraced Yellow Book's larger print, which makes it easier to search for business information," said Walsh, "The convenience factors we build into every book have consumers turning to our book regularly; therefore our advertisers enjoy tremendous results.
"Simply put, we offer a more user-friendly, comprehensive frequently used product at a fraction of the cost the phone company charges for businesses to advertise." Walsh continued.
Businesses located in Greater Middletown can anticipate successful results similar to those enjoyed by advertisers in Fairfield County as well as 39 states around the United States:
