New Suburban Essex County Yellow Pages Planned by Yellow Book

UNIONDALE, NY (November 12, 2002) - Consumers living and working in the areas of Orange and Montclair will no longer need to reach for multiple phone directories. In August 2003, Yellow Book USA will publish one complete directory for the entire Suburban Essex County area. The new Suburban Essex County Yellow Book will cover the same area currently served by two Verizon directories and will offer tremendous convenience to area residents with comprehensive information about the entire area in one, easy-to-use directory.

The new Suburban Essex County Yellow Book will include business yellow and white page listings for the entire suburban Essex county area including the towns of Belleville, Bloomfield, Caldwell, Cedar Grove, Essex Fells, Fairfield, Glen Ridge, Livingston, Maplewood, Millburn, Montclair, North Caldwell, Nutley, Roseland, Short Hills, South Orange, Upper Montclair, Verona, West Caldwell and West Orange, as well as the town of Clifton in Passaic County.

The Suburban Essex County Yellow Book will complement the Morris County and Suburban Passaic County Yellow Books, with 222,000 books delivered free to residences and businesses late next summer.

"The cost savings to advertisers and convenience to consumers has made Yellow Book the directory of choice in northern New Jersey," said Joe Walsh, president and CEO of Yellow Book USA. "Our goal now is to combine the existing regional Yellow Books into one countywide directory. This essentially translates to real savings for businesses since they now only need to advertise in one directory to reach the same customers throughout the county."

The books slated for consolidation are those in these Essex County communities: Caldwell, Montclair, Nutley, Livingston, West Orange, Maplewood and Millburn, plus the town of Clifton in Passaic County.

The oldest and largest competitive yellow pages publisher in the United States, Yellow Book USA is an innovative leader producing books that are easier to use, and provide a full range of convenient features including listings printed in three larger-print columns, area maps, zip code information, coupons, restaurant menus and a comprehensive listing of community services.

"The convenience factors we build into our books help our advertisers reap tremendous results," said Walsh, "In nearly every market we operate, Yellow Book is preferred by consumers and our advertising rates are lower than the phone company-owned books. Simply put, we offer a more user-friendly, comprehensive frequently used product at a fraction of the cost the phone company charges for businesses to advertise."

Businesses located in Suburban Essex County can anticipate successful results similar to those enjoyed by these New Jersey advertisers as well as in 38 other states around the United States:

"I am very pleased with the results I have been getting from the new all-inclusive phone book. I am able to reach many more people being in one directory that covers the full county." - David Jensen, owner, Randolph Transmissions, Inc.

"My phone started to go 'crazy' and my business has increased by 50 percent." - Ozzie Kubat, owner, Butler Lock Service

"Yellow Book reaches the entire market, which means I receive calls from towns that I never did business in before. My business has increased 25 percent." - Bob Pedatella, president, Kodiak Landscape Design, Inc.

Established in l930, Yellow Book USA has in recent years made a number of strategic acquisitions and entered scores of new markets, making it the largest independent yellow pages publisher in the nation. The recent acquisition of McLeodUSA's telephone directory publishing business extended Yellow Book's presence into 39 states, more than any other U.S. yellow pages publisher. Yellow Book currently publishes over 500 directories with a circulation of 60 million.
