Earth 911 and Yellow Book USA Aim to Increase Recycling
--Earth 911 and Yellow Book Help Locate Convenient Phone Book Recycling Stations--
(Phoenix, AZ) - Earth 911 and Yellow Book USA are working together to enhance community education and provide information networks to increase the rate of yellow page directory recycling across the United States.
Yellow Book USA is joining the Earth 911 Partnership because it has proved efficacious in recycling campaigns for a wide array of natural resources. Yellow Book USA will now have its logo and link available on all Earth 911 telephone directory recycling site pages on the Web (www.earth911.org). Yellow Book USA will also promote recycling on its own website (www.yellowbook.com) by offering Earth 911's popular Recycling ZIP Code Locator Box which enables visitors to easily determine their nearest recycling location.
"We are excited about joining Earth 911 to educate our communities about recycling," said Joe Walsh, CEO of Yellow Book USA. "Recycling old telephone books is just one way we all can help our environment," said Walsh.
Along with encouraging residents to recycle telephone directories Yellow Book USA will also be promoting Earth 911 and the national environmental network through display advertising in their 63 million circulating Yellow Books, which are distributed throughout 41 states and the District of Columbia.
"We welcome Yellow Book USA to the Earth 911 Partnership and encourage all of our local and state coordinators to update their information with local telephone directory recycling locations," said Anne Reichman, Director of Earth 911.
Earth 911 is a Public and Private Sector Partnership founded in 1991 and operated by E2C (Engaging & Empowering Citizenship). It is dedicated to empowering the public with free "call-to-action" awareness programs through the Internet (www.Earth 911.org or www.cleanup.org). They also offer a toll-free bilingual hotline at 1-800-CLEANUP. Earth 911 promotes environmental information and resources provided by government agencies across the United States and Canada.
