-- Consumers and Advertisers Now Have a Choice --
UNIONDALE, NY (December 8, 2004) - Yellow Book USA, the oldest and largest independent yellow pages publisher in the nation announced today that it is entering the $140 million Atlanta Metro yellow pages advertising market, expanding its natural footprint in Georgia.
Joe Walsh, President and CEO of Yellow Book USA said, "Yellow Book will smash the monopoly stranglehold BellSouth has had on yellow pages in Atlanta. The phone company has raised advertising rates so high that Yellow Book will be able to charge about half as much. Competition has the wonderful effect of improving products and lowering prices. Yellow Book will stand toe to toe with BellSouth and publish a high quality yellow pages directory packed with cool features and buying information for consumers - they'll love it. Our loyal advertisers surrounding Atlanta have been asking us to publish an Atlanta directory for years."
Yellow Book's entry in the Atlanta Metro market will utilize the company's proven model for entering new markets. Yellow Book successfully publishes in other large cities across the nation such as Chicago, Manhattan, Los Angeles, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Charlotte, Boston, St. Louis, Baltimore and Minneapolis/St Paul. The company will leverage its strong local presence for this Atlanta launch.
For nearly 15 years, Yellow Book has been publishing yellow pages directories in the surrounding areas of Atlanta. With eleven directories throughout Georgia, the Atlanta Metro directory will become the company's largest in the state with a circulation of over 1 million. The ˜A to Z' directory will include business yellow and white pages, community and government information, area maps, local restaurant menus, money-saving coupons, and much more.
Businesses in neighboring Atlanta Metro markets have been pleased with the results from their Yellow Book programs:
- "I've been a faithful Yellow Book advertiser since 1999, which has proven to be my best decision yet. I previously advertised in the Roswell/Alpharetta BellSouth directory, as well. I have since discontinued my advertising with BellSouth Yellow Pages; they were far less successful and significantly more expensive than Yellow Book. Yellow Book has helped my practice grow immensely at a fraction of the cost of their competition." M. White, D.C., Absolute Chiropractic - North Fulton Yellow Book.
- "Yellow Book gives us the best return on investment of all the yellow pages ads we run, BellSouth included. We've been with Yellow Book for six years. Yellow Book has played a significant role in our success." O. Lynch, Atlanta Peach Movers - North Fulton and Gwinnett County Yellow Books.
-
"I attribute much of the spike in business to the Gwinnett Yellow Book Yellow Pages. Before placing our ad with Yellow Book, the percentage of clients we were getting from Gwinnett County was less than 30%. Since the Gwinnett Yellow Book came out in March 2004, 50% of our client base has been coming from Gwinnett." M. Jones, Sr., Jones Law Firm - Gwinnett County Yellow Book.
The Atlanta Metro Yellow Book will publish in early 2006.
