Uniondale, NY (July 15, 2005) - Yellow Book USA announced today that it has completed the purchase of Western Directory Company, headquartered in Fresno, California.
"This is a joining of forces to better serve the community," said Joe Walsh, President and CEO of Yellow Book USA. Western Directory Company publishes yellow pages directories in Clovis, Sanger and Woodward Park, California, with a combined circulation of 128,000. This acquisition further strengthens Yellow Book's market presence within the state of California.
"Western Directory Company's experience and local market knowledge, combined with the market knowledge and additional resources from Yellow Book will make for a winning combination," said Walsh.
Established in 1930, Yellow Book is the oldest and largest independent yellow pages publisher in the nation. In recent years, Yellow Book has made a number of strategic acquisitions and entered scores of new markets. Yellow Book now publishes around 600 directories in 44 states, plus the District of Columbia, with a distribution of over 82 million.
