UNIONDALE, NY (January 13, 2006) - Yellow Book USA, the nation's oldest and largest independent yellow pages publisher, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the Walker County Alabama directory from Alabama Publishing Group LLC.
"The acquisition of the Walker County directory is a natural expansion of Yellow Book's footprint in the state of Alabama, further building upon the success residents and businesses have been praising in neighboring markets for years," said Joe Walsh, President and CEO of Yellow Book USA.
With the addition of the Walker County directory Yellow Book will now publish over 20 directories throughout the state, including Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa.
Established in 1930, Yellow Book USA is the oldest and largest independent yellow pages publisher in the nation. In recent years, Yellow Book has made a number of strategic acquisitions and entered scores of new markets. With the July 2005 acquisition of TransWestern Publishing, Yellow Book now publishes approximately 900 directories in 46 states and the District of Columbia with a distribution of over 100 million.
