Yellow Book Takes Top Directory Spot From Idearc In Key Markets

Latest Calendar Year 2007 Syndicated Usage Studies Show Year over Year Usage Gains in Pittsburgh, Nassau County, and Annapolis

UNIONDALE, NY, February 15, 2008 --Yellow Book USA announced today it now has the greatest usage of any yellow pages directory in a number of key markets where it competes head-to-head with Verizon Yellow Pages, published by Idearc Media.

The latest Yellow Pages Market Reporter (YPMR) studies, published by Knowledge Networks/SRI, a survey research firm endorsed by the yellow pages industry for syndicated research, show strong annual Yellow Book directory usage gains in Pittsburgh, Nassau County and Annapolis, as illustrated in the below table. Two of the three market studies - all but Pittsburgh - were co-sponsored by Yellow Book and Idearc.

  Yellow Book Idearc
Market Directory* 2006 % Usage 2007 % Usage Change 2006 % Usage 2007 % Usage Change

Pittsburgh, PA3 40.5 43.9 +3.4 44.4 38.6 -5.8

The 2007 calendar year results, released in January 2008, have moved the Annapolis, Nassau County, and Pittsburgh Yellow Book directories into the number one position ahead of Idearc, joining other leading Yellow Book directories in Idearc markets, including Philadelphia, PA, Northern Virginia, VA, Staten Island, NY, Wilkes-Barre, PA, Pocono Mountains, PA, Harrisburg/Hershey/Carlisle, PA, Palm Springs, CA, to name a few.

In just over a decade, Yellow Book has captured the leading directory share in Annapolis and Pittsburgh. In Nassau County, Yellow Book's leading directory share was captured in just over five years. Much of Yellow Book's share gains have come at the expense of the incumbent directory publisher, which, by contrast, has published in these markets for over 100 years.
